DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS

This was a fun, frenetic musical, directed by Shawn Cannon, book by Jeffrey Lane, music and lyrics by David Yazbek, with music direction by Sam Prindiville.   Show dates were on Fri., Sat.'s, May 17-June 8 at 7:30 pm, with a special matinee on Sat., May 25, at 1:00 pm and a Thurs. performance on June 6 at 7:30 pm.

Freddie Benson, a con(fidence) man, lives off women by waking their compassion with shocking stories about his fake fate. One day in beautiful Beaumont Sur Mer, he meets Lawrence Jamieson, who shares the same passion, works the rich ladies with the same scheme, but in quite a different league. With the knowledge of his profession, Freddie forces Lawrence to teach him high-society behaviour, so that he himself can earn a major living. When time comes to say goodbye, Freddie decides to stay a little longer. As there is no way two con men can work a town that small at the same time, Lawrence and Freddie agree on a settlement: The first one to extract $50.000 from a young female target, Christine Colgate, wins, and the other leaves town. The sum is no match for Lawrence, the age of the lady no match for Freddie. Let the games begin as a hilarious battle of cons ensues that will keep audiences laughing, humming and guessing to the end!
